Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research

The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research is a non-profit research organization. Its focus is the study and investigation of pathogens which are medically relevant or can be used as models for researching infection mechanisms. The centre is supported by the federal government of Germany and the state of Lower Saxony. It has about 700 employees from more than 40 countries. HZI is closely cooperating with national and international universities, research institutions and biotech companies.
