Prof. Dr Max Summers

Max Summers has vast expertise in recombinant production of biologics, and is one of the top cited microbiologists world-wide. It was his laboratory which had produced, for the first time, a recombinant protein by using BEVS, a watershed event resulting in thousands of laboratories in academia and industry using this innovative technology Prof. Summers has pioneered. Prof. Summers has received numerous distinctions, honors and awards, including the Spirit of Innovation Award for Global Outreach and the 1999 Inventor of the Year Award. Prof. Summers is member of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA, and was elected to the US Department of Commerce, Biotechnology Technical Advisory Committee.
